Mt Eden Acupuncture Centre was established in June 1988 at 284 Mt Eden Road, Auckland. Over more than three decades, our clinic has earned a trusted reputation across Auckland for clinical excellence, meticulous diagnosis, and deeply compassionate patient care.
The clinic is led by senior practitioners Frederic (Fred) Qiu and Rebecca Liu, both of whom possess more than 30 years of clinical practice. Holding dual qualifications—including Bachelor of Health Science degrees in Acupuncture in New Zealand, as well as Master's and Doctoral degrees in acupuncture from medical universities in China—our doctors integrate authentic, classical Chinese medicine principles with modern anatomical and physiological science.
Both practitioners are accredited treatment providers under ACC (Accident Compensation Corporation) and registered members of the New Zealand Acupuncture Standards Authority (NZASA).
Root-Cause Diagnosis
Rather than merely suppressing superficial symptoms, we conduct detailed pulse and tongue diagnosis to treat the root imbalances (Ben) while alleviating acute distress (Biao).
Safety & Hygiene Standards
We maintain strict sterile clinical procedures. All acupuncture needles are surgical-grade, pre-sterilized, single-use disposable needles that are safely discarded immediately after treatment.
No GP Referral Needed
As registered ACC treatment providers, you can visit us directly for any accidental or sports injury without needing a doctor’s referral letter first.
What to Expect During Your Visit
- Initial Consultation: An initial session includes a thorough evaluation of your medical history, current symptoms, pulse feeling, and tongue examination.
- Treatment Formulation: Based on your TCM pattern, the doctor selects an individualized combination of acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion, tuina, or herbal advice.
- Gentle Technique: Our practitioners utilize ultra-fine needles and specialized gentle insertion methods so you experience minimal sensation and maximum relaxation.
- Convenient Parking: Free dedicated patient parking is provided right outside our clinic at 284 Mt Eden Road.
